Wajahat Sayeed is the founder and president of the Al-Furqaan Foundation, the largest publisher and distributor of the Qur’an in North America. Its flagship translation, The Clear Quran®, has found its way into the hands of more than six million readers across the world. Since founding the organization in 2003, he has spent over two decades doing the unglamorous, patient work of building publishing, distribution, and educational institutions meant to outlast their founder — living, firsthand, the discipline of stewardship this book establishes for the modern executive.
His road to this leadership series ran through the world it addresses. He began in investment management, then spent years in strategy and operations consulting at PwC, immersed in the canon every executive knows — Drucker on management, Collins on endurance, the Stoics and Sun Tzu on command. In those years, one question kept returning to him: how had the executive canon engaged every leadership tradition in history except the most fully documented one? The leader whose every hiring decision, crisis response, negotiation, and succession choice was preserved in extraordinary detail — studied by a quarter of humanity, yet absent from the boardroom shelf. He came to understand that what was missing was a translator: not of language, but of leadership.
